The Toronto Blue Jays dipped into the 2012 free agent market on Thursday, inking second baseman Maicer Izturis to a 3-year 9 million dollar contract. The deal also includes a 3 million dollar club option for a fourth year. Izturis has played the last 8 seasons with the Los Angeles Angels franchise, predominantly as a middle infielder. The 32-year-old also comes with a Canadian connection as he was drafted by the now defunct Montreal Expos in 2004.
