Until this year, when we saw the likes of Getz and Diaz, Sanchez and Strohman, and a half-a-dozen others, I was lamenting the inability of the Jays to bring up players that were sound in the fundamentals of baseball, and only needed some polishing in the big leagues. I think Goins came up and was ready to play, except for his hitting. His approach still seems undisciplined much of the time, but there is an improvement there.
So I think we're on the right track, which is to have talent at the AAA level that is good enough to fill in or even replace any regular position on the major team. Any thoughts?
