JA Happ
After J.A. Happ’s pitching effort last night a friend emailed me “Where did THAT come from?”.  I have since read similar, singularly positive but amazed statements of ‘shock and awe’ from almost every quarter on-line and listened to much the same comments bantered about on-air!

Even more strangely, they were the EXACT same sentiments voiced by all after his previous ‘LAST’ start!  HELLO!?!?

Pretty well since the end of June, barring one bad start and one mediocre start (Hey, even Verlander, Price, Wainwright, Darvish et al, and…heaven forbid…one, Marcus Stroman, have been entitled to one or two of those over the past month and a half!) the Blue Jays’ ‘sometime’, so-called ‘5th starter’ has pitched more like the team ‘Ace’ than not!

Happ’s last start, prior to yesterday, had been touted as a “gem.”  The Jays lost it 3 – 1 but Happ gave up only one run on three (3) hits and 2 bases-on-balls over seven complete innings!  As a matter of fact, except for the unusual 12 Ks last night, he has pitched well in 6 out of his last 7 starts and REALLY well in 5 of those last 7.  Over his past two starts he has been virtually ‘LIGHTS OUT!’.

J.A. Happ’s last four (4) STARTS for the Toronto Blue Jays have been outstanding.  Look at these stats!  He has given up a total of only 5 earned runs…6 TOTAL runs, issued merely six (6) bases-on-balls and chalked up 25 Ks, all over 26.1 innings!!!!!

NOT TOO SHABBY!!!  Downright GREAT!!!  Makes a fan very ‘HAPP…Y‘!!!

Where the heck have YOU been?
