The Blue Jays offense, however, managed to scatter only 3 singles. Their best chance came in the 3rd inning when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. came up with the bases loaded. Up 3 balls to no strikes, he watched 3 straight offerings go right down the middle, and the Yankees escaped unscathed.

Out of the bullpen, Jordan Romano came on to pitch the 9th with the score knotted at 0. He was touched up for a 2-run home run, resulting in his 7th loss of the season and his second in as many games.

With the loss, the Blue Jays dropped to 87-70 and are now 17 games above .500 on the season.

UP NEXT: The Blue Jays take on Yankees on Wed, Sep 27 @ 7:07 PM EDT in Toronto. José Berríos is scheduled to start for Toronto.
