The Toronto Blue Jays dropped game 162 of the season to the Tampa Bay Rays 8-12 on Sunday the 1st of October before 42,058 at the Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays went 43-38 at home this season.

Starting on the bump for the Blue Jays, specifically called up to eat some innings, was Wes Parsons. He managed to eat 4.0, but allowed 9 ER on 10 hits (2 HR) in the process.

Brandon Belt had a good game at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a HR. Davis Schneider also had a notable performance, going 2-for-4 with 2 doubles, and most importantly ended a 0-for-31 streak.

With the loss, the Blue Jays dropped to 89-73 and finished the season 16 games above the .500 mark. They also slipped to the No. 6 seed in the American League and will face the Minnesota Twins in the WC round of the playoffs.
