Minnesota Twins 3 Toronto Blue Jays 1 FINAL 1 0-1
2023-10-03 | | Streak: 1 | W: Lopez L: Gausman, SV: Duran

The Toronto Blue Jays came up lifeless in the first game of the 2023 Post-Season, dropping a 3-1 game to the Minnesota Twins – handing them their first Post-Season victory in over 19 years.

Starting on the bump for the Blue Jays was Kevin Gausman, who has had a difficult time in the past vs. Minnesota – and today was no different. He ended up going just 4.0 innings, while only surrendering 3 hits, two of them were home runs. He also struck out 5 and walked 3.

Erik Swanson, Tim Mayza, Chad Green, Genesis Cabrera and Jordan Hicks followed Gausman, allowing just 2 hits the rest of the way.

Kevin Kiermaier had a good game at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Bo Bichette also had a notable performance, going 2-for-4. That was pretty much it. The offense was unable to get much going against Twins starter Pablo Lopez or their bullpen.

UP NEXT: The Blue Jays take on Twins on Wed, Oct 4 @ 4:38 PM EDT in Minnesota. José Berríos is scheduled to start for Toronto.
