The Toronto Blue Jays dropped game 2 of the Wildcard Series to the Minnesota Twins by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday the 4th of October. The Blue Jays are now done for the season.

Starting on the bump for the Blue Jays was José Berríos, who was dominant, going 3 innings pitched, striking out 5 while scattering 3 hits. However, in one of the most questionable calls in franchise history, Berríos was pulled after 47 pitches (32 of them strikes) in favor of Yusei Kikuchi, in a move pre-determined before the game even began. After inhering Berríos’ leadoff walk, Kukuchi proceeded to load the bases and the Twins took a 2-0 lead, which would hold up for the entirety of the game.

George Springer had a good game at the plate, going 2-for-4. Alejandro Kirk also had a notable performance, going 2-for-4.

With the loss, the Blue Jays dropped to 0-2 and were eliminated, having only mustered up a single run in 18 innings of Post-Season play.

UP NEXT: The Blue Jays look forward to the end of the season where they will begin to rebuild after another embarrassingly early Post-Season exit.
