Long time Blue Jays Third Base coach Luis Rivera has announced his retirement just a day after Toronto’s back-to-back early exit from the post-season.

Rivera, a former infielder who played for the Montreal Expos and a handful of other clubs, joined the Toronto Blue Jays organization in 2010 managing the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

In 2011 and 2012 he worked as a coaching assistant for the Blue Jays. Prior to the 2013 season he was named the third base coach and has been there ever since.
