The Toronto Blue Jays and Whit Merrifield have declined an $18 million dollar mutual option for the 2024 season.
Merrifield, who is the Blue Jays sole Silver Slugger finalist this year, is now a free agent. Over 2 seasons with Toronto Merrifield appeared in 189 games and posted a .274 batting average. He was also one of the Blue Jays All-Star representatives in 2023.
